What is Home CARES?
Walkers, canes and bath equipment, no longer needed, are thrown away daily by nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Wheelchairs, crutches and grabbers sit unused in garages and backyards. Meanwhile, many people stuggle to afford this very same equipment that can improve their mobility, dignity and safety.
Since 1996 Home CARES Equipment Recyclers, a nonprofit program, has been acquiring unneeded medical equipment from individuals, businesses and organizations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and passing it on to people in need. We are committed to increasing your access to durable medical equipment while reducing needless environmental waste.
We have a central location in Marin County, California, where serviceable medical equipment and supplies can be delivered or picked up. If you are in need of special items we may know where you can find them.
What Equipment and Supplies?
Donated equipment must be in clean and useable condiition. Examples of durable medical equipment are walkers, canes, crutches, wheelchairs, commodes, shower stools, transfer benches, grabbers, bed pads, wedge pillows, blood pressure kits, glucometers, oxygen supplies, diapers, and more. |
